In VB there is a cool tool on the palette for 3D text and buttons. Some of the options are Raised and Inset. While there may not be one on the NeoBook Tool Palette is isn't hard to create from scratch...   . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
First, for Raised Text, use the Title Text tool to put some text on the page. Make the Font Color White. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

While the object is still selected use
Ctrl+C to Copy then Ctrl+V to Paste.

Press the DOWN ARROW KEY once
Then the
RIGHT ARROW KEY once

With the newly pasted text object still selected
choose a different Font Color from the Tool Palette

For Inset Text do the same thing but
press the
UP ARROW KEY once
Then the
LEFT ARROW KEY once

Both text effects look great when you
use
[variables] inside the Title Text object

Making a 3D Button is just as easy.
Again, use the Title Text tool to
place White text on the page...

Then, draw a button on the page
Use the same text and make the button Hollow...

Move the button positioning it directly
over the top of the White text

Then, press the UP ARROW KEY once
and the LEFT ARROW KEY once
You should now have a button
that looks like the one below

Normal

Because a button moves 2 pixels right
and 2 pixels down it will uncover the
underlying white text on the opposite
edge of the button text making it appear
as Raised Text...

Pressed

See all this in practice...
